For this mod, you will be removing the extremely restrictive
spark arrestor screen which will allow your 50 to breathe a whole
lot better. It should be noted that if you ride in areas that require
a US Forest Service spark arrestor, then you should only follow this
guide to the point of removing the baffle and not cut the screen
off. This mod works best with an aftermarket intake filter or stock
air box mod. To achieve the best results, you should also open up
your intake (see: air box mod).

Step 1:
Remove the three 8mm bolts holding the baffle
|

|
|
|
The entire baffle assembly should pull right out. |
|
|
|
Step 2:
Using a hack saw with a metal cutting blade; cut through the
Forest Service spark arrestor screen (see below). |
